And now the recently launched Hyundai Creta has been making even bigger waves in the market.
While being harmonized with such beauty machines, car makers are busy crafting their own unique compacted SUVs to mark their foot in this hot trend. Let’s take a quick look at what is in offer for the market of compact SUVs:
*Maruti Suzuki Vitara
The SUV was revealed at the Paris Auto Show in 2014, as a concept. Vitara is the production ready model of the concept iv-4 concept. While the size of the upcoming Vitara is still to be confirmed, whether it would be above or below the 4m-sub range, however as the spied pictures of the test mule, looks like the vehicle is less than 4m.
As there are a lot of competitors in the market to cope up with, but if Maruti along with its trusted brand name price is competitively, the SUV might have a fair chance in the market. The similar 1.3L DDiS engine would power the Maruti Vitara, just like the Swift Dzire, S-Cross and Ciaz.

*Honda BR-V
This car is supposed to make its official debut at the Gaikindo International Auto Show that is scheduled to take place later this month; the Honda BR-V would arrive in India too based on the Brio Platform, extended carrying a codename 2SJ Fascinatingly.
The brand had managed to bring in a few of the of units of the 2SJ to our country around 2-3 months before. In spite of being a sub-4 metre vehicle, the BR-V would present 7 seats. Power would be derived from the 1.5-L i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-L i-DTEC diesel motors that also grant its power to the Honda City.

*Mahindra TUV300
Mahindra team has just recently unveiled their new creation, the sub-compact TUV300, while the vehicle would look much like the Ford EcoSport, already doing well in the market. As pr the folks at Mahindra, they have designed the vehicle identical to a battle tank, carrying a flat roof along with a higher ground clearance. A diesel engine mHawk80 would grant its power to the machine.

Price tag: INR 6-8.50 lakh
Other than the aforementioned cars, there is a possibility to roll out a sub-compact SUV from Hyundai along with a micro SUV from the house of Mahindra for the following year.
