Seems like this version would be exclusively reserved for exports to the global markets. Whereas petrol powered Mahindra XUV500 might not be productive for the Indian spectators.

Though, the domestic market has not been ignored out totally, as Dr. Pawan Goenka, President of Mahindra’s automotive section, had once quoted about the condition in the market being changed, and diesel becomes costly, so the company would not hesitate in offering a petrol version of the SUV, while the diesel might not be preferred due to its high cost.

The different transmission options could contain a manual gearing system and a possibly auto transmission as well. An AWD system could also be obtainable in superior versions, as in the diesel.While, the market in India, as well keeps swinging, sometimes, in favor of Petrol, as dropping down its prices, and at times, it’s the diesel that gets benefitted, so it is indeed an intelligent move, if car makers like Mahindra keeps this in mind and offers products in both variants for the buyers in the market to make their selection.
