Finally after a hectic face off with the e-Rickshaws and the Delhi Roads, the Govt. has finally decided to roll out the vehicles on the roads of the capital. There are around 7 models that are approved by the Govt.

Finally after a hectic face off with the e-Rickshaws and the Delhi Roads, the Govt. has finally decided to roll out the vehicles on the roads of the capital. There are around 7 models that are approved by the Govt. however the registration has started for two of the models, with registered no DL IR 001 and DL IR 002, already.

According to the transport minister Gopal Rai, once the makers appoint dealers for these vehicles, they can be out for sales for the interested people who can buy them and get them registered. Also the Delhi Finance Corporation has agreed to equip the common man with a loan for this vehicle at 13 percent interest rate for a loan period of two years.
 
As of now, the department has accepted 22,984 PSV applications, out of which 21,833 applications have been handed over for police verification, and 782 applications have been routed back after police verification. The transport department has also distributed 24,441 learning licences. In order to make the registration process simpler, a smooth procedure for registration of e-rickshaws has been formed, and pamphlets with required information have also been printed in Hindi, as reported by Mr.Rai.
