Post to step the govt. took to allow only fuel efficient cars to run on the roads of the country, now to top it up, the Govt. has decided to notify the Auto companies, to make sure any product they roll out should at least posse a churn out of 18.2Km/l.

This is indeed an increase in the average of most of the cars by at least 15 percent. The manufacturers would not be stopped to sell their cars that don’t fare at the required average, but they will have to offer variants that would give out average above 18.2km/L. According to the analysis done on the theory, this step could actually help in saving fuel, counting over the country for over INR 90,000 Cr. Annually.
 
The conclusion has been issued by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, and the Ministry of Road Transport and highways would straighten the layout of these regulations and fines, for violating the norms too. The govt. also has a plan to extend the notice to over 22km/L by the coming year 2022.
