The 2014 Chevrolet Cruze model will be rolling on roads of North America from now. This car that is being powered by a diesel engine is being said to be the most powerful to be ever produced by General Motors. The mileage figure of this car stands at 46 mph.
The latest model of Chevrolet Cruze is one of the most fuel efficient car that has been produced by the American car maker. With a mileage figure of 46 miles per gallon on freeways this car slide from 0-62 mph speed in 8.6 seconds. This Chevrolet fuel efficient car is being powered by a 4 cylinder, 2 liter diesel engine whose performance will be aided by a turbocharger. This power mill carries an efficiency to produce power worth 154 PS against a peak torque of 357 Nm. The distance that this car can cover in one complete refill is more than 700 miles.
This 2014 Chevrolet Cruze prize in India will be in +INR 13 lakhs bracket. This price figure in US stands at $25, 695, and it will be available on all sales outlets there from this month onwards. According to company’s Vice President, Chris Perry, they are just giving people what they would have always wanted. But along with fuel efficiency, people are also looking for performance he added further.
The power driver of this car will be supported by a 6-speed automatic transmission, this gearbox has been supporting the diesel power plant that is being sold by GM in Europe. Diesel engine is a feature that is borne by approx. 40% of all Cruze models that have been sold since 1997.
The price that is quoted for this model exceeds the Eco version of this car by $5000 in North America. The Eco version of this car delivers a mileage of 42 mpg on an average. Diesel models are a new concept in USA, and at present form only 3 per cent of total number of cars sold there. The diesel engine were not preferred earlier due to their harsh noise pollution spreading characteristics. But now due to clean fuel technology these models are again gaining a place among other cars.
