Mercedes-Benz display GLA Crossover at Indian Auto Expo 2014

Mercedes Benz the German luxury carmaker has showcased its new GLA Crossover at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014. It is anticipated to launch at the end of this year or in the beginning of 2015. It will compete directly against the likes of BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

Crossover based on the A-Class hatchback platform, it embarks like the elevated version of hatch. It has a seating capacity of 5 people. It sports plastic sills and wheel arches to give the crossover a more rugged look. The crossover is basically a soft roader and this will be a front wheel drive car. It measures 125 mm longer, 24mm wider and 61mm taller than the A class hatchback. Mercedes Benz GLA gets the more boot space than the A-Class hatch at 421-litre.

It comes up with the both petrol and diesel variant. The petrol variant  would  get 1.6 litre engine whereas the Diesel variant will get the same 2.2 litre engine powers the A and B Class, which would  be mated to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic.
