Uber Cabs tests for cash payments in India

The company based in San Francisco has gained momentum and is almost secured about 40 billion dollars. However the leader in the taxi services in India is still Ola cabs, holding on to almost 80 percent of the market share.

The Uber cab is conducting tests on accepting cash settlement in India. The company has been considering this change, as it has become a popular commuting choice, but the process of online booking, credit and debit card, is not a much customized aspect followed by most people here. The company based in San Francisco has gained momentum and is almost secured about 40 billion dollars.

However the leader in the taxi services in India is still Ola cabs, holding on to almost 80 percent of the market share. Although it has been observed by a lot of business analysts that the Ola cabs, have a designed module that caters to a lot of needs for the Indian commuters. Uber has started experimenting with cash payment in the city of Hyderabad. Prior to this move, the company has charged its customer through their credit and debit cards online.
 
Currently, India has around 20 million credit cards, and the population is about 1.3 billion, though the govt. is trying to bridge this gap soon, but still a lot of people do their daily transaction is cash itself. As reported by the GM of Uber, that cash still dominates the nature of a lot of Indians still. Earlier, in order to expand further, Uber is following the footsteps of Ola, by tying up with Auto rickshaws, in a lot of cities, so that the name can go and reach corners of the country well.
