3. Running on a flat tyre, especially during the monsoons, can affect the car’s grip on the road. Although it’s known fact, to avoid, however at time we don’t really pay attention or ignore them. Also running the car on a flat tyre, even for a short distance can cause harm the tube within the tyre.

 Keep your wheels aligned:

In the every-day rush we often forget to get the wheel balancing and alignment done that causes the tyre to bear the burden on any one particular side, causing a harm and damage once the vehicle speeds up.

Braking:

During the monsoon, the roads tend to become wet, and if the brakes are applied light, the car might not stop; causing the tyres to slip, and also we need to be careful about not applying the brake too hard, for the car to stop abruptly. The tyre is one of the most responsive apparatus of a car that is simply subject to break. Its breakdown can provide the automobile to a decline so keep the below mentioned protection points in mind.

Measures

1. Inspect the pressure in the tyres once a week. Kindly maintain the suggested level.

2. Make sure the valve cap is attached on the valve. The cap prevents any seepage of air, and also averts dirt and dust from staying in the valve body.

3. Check the tyres frequently for the tread pattern and surface walls. Inaccurate wheel alignment can result in rubbing of the tyres on any one of the sides.

4. Loading the car in excess with goods of passengers shall be avoided as it decreases the life of the tyres.

5. It is advisable to keep on rotating all the five tyres, including the spare wheel, so that they have a balanced life.

6. Make sure all the tyres of the vehicle belong to a similar category and brand, in order to increase the life on the axles.

7. Over and above adequate focus should be given to the driving practice. Apply the brakes of the car slow, lower your speed on turns and slow down while crossing potholes, rough bends and speed breakers. This would definitely increase the life of the tyres.
