The Tata Motors revealed the concept version of the new Tata Hexa crossover SUV at the Geneva Motor Show 2015, while the new car was first showcased in India at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016. Its Horizon Next product strategy seems to have worked wonders for the company with the latest varients launch of the Tata Tiago small hatchback. While the Tata Hexa, with its perfect design philosophy, has received an encouraging response for itself at the Auto Expo as well as at the media drive event and company have also plans to launch the new Tata Nexon sub-compact SUV and the Tata Kite 5 sub-compact sedan under the same design and philosophy. The New Variant of Tata Hexa is all set to be launched in India on 18th January 2017. The New Crossover SUV will come with 5 trim-levels with two diesel engine options MT & AT transmissions and2WD and 4WD drive-train options.

The New variant of Tata Hexa will come with 6-seat as well as 7-seat options. All the variants of the Hexa gets the 6-seat and 7-seat options while the SUV gets a 4WD option in the XT, XMA and XTA variants only, rest all variants gets a 2WD option. It comes equipped with new features like leather seat upholstery, touch-screen infotainment system with GPS navigation, 10 top version speaker Harman audio system with Bluetooth, USB support with Aux-in, ambient mood lighting, automatic climate control, engine start/stop button, keyless entry, powered driver seats etc. Beside it, safety features on the Tata Hexa include 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program, cruise control system, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist among the others.

New Tata Hexa will come equipped with two diesel engine options along with three transmission options. The base variant of Hexa will be powered by a 2.2-litre varicor that produces 148 BHP of power and 320 Nm of peak torque while this engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox also. All other variants of the SUV will be powered by a more powerful 2.2-litre Varicor 400 diesel unit that pumps out 154 BHP of maximum power and 400 Nm of its peak torque. The New Hexa engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while 6-speed automatic transmissions are available as an option.

The New Tata Hexa dimensionally measures at 4,788 mm in length, 1,903 mm in width and 1,791 mm in height. The New Crossover SUV has a massive wheelbase of 2,850 mm while the ground clearance stands at a decent 200 mm. The Tata Hexa gets projector headlamps, black plastic cladding on the exteriors, LED taillights, 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and roof rails. The New Tata Hexa comes with both 2WD and 4WD drive-train options. The New Tata Hexa is expected to be launched in the price range of INR 12 lakh to INR 18 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) in India.
