Suzuki Vitara scores high in Euro NCAP safety tests

The Suzuki Vitara was awarded the full on five-star rating in numerous Safety Tests. In the recent round of safety tests conducted by Euro NCAP, the Suzuki Vitara has banged the award of highest rating of five starts for passengers and pedestrian protection.

In the recent round of safety tests conducted by Euro NCAP, the Suzuki Vitara has banged the award of highest rating of five starts for passengers and pedestrian protection. The Vitara was one of the models in a cluster of four which also comprised of the Fiat 500X small MPV, to undergo crash safety tests.

The Vitara earned high in occupant safety earning an 89 percent rating for adult occupant protection and 85 percent for child occupants. In terms of pedestrian safety, the Vitara earned a 76 percent rating whilst the safety assist grabbed the car’s lowest rating of 75 percent. The car was also applauded for its self-ruling emergency braking system.

The Vitara was only lost in the part of child occupant safety by the Renault Espace MPV, which grabbed a rating of 89 percent. The Fiat 500X small MPV on the other hand only earned four out of five stars with the car being marked down for not providing self-ruling emergency braking system as standard on the model.

Suzuki managed to sell the last generation of the Vitara in Indian market known as the Maruti Grand Vitara. The company has not yet revealed if this fourth generation model will come to India, however, the company has announced that it will be launching the S-Cross crossover in India under the name Across sometime in 2015.
