Renault Lodgy would be available in the top end variant only

Renault India dealers have started booking for the forthcoming Lodgy MPV for a card amount of INR 50,000. The machine is expected to be out in the market by the mid of April 2015.

Renault India’s dealers have started booking for the forthcoming Lodgy MPV for a card amount of INR 50,000. The machine is expected to be out in the market by the mid of April 2015, only the top-end variant of the Lodgy would be available to start with. Renault India is ardent to offer the top-end variant at the time of launch in order to mark the Lodgy as an upscale segment and expand economy MPV in the minds of consumers. The French car manufacturer also wants the Lodgy to cater to private customers largely and not for the taxis.

The Lodgy’s top-end version, the RxZ, will be available in the 85 PS and 110 PS version of the 1.5-L four-cylinder K9K diesel engine. The 85 PS pulls out 200 Nm of force and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission whereas the 110 PS pulls out 245 Nm of force and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. As per the ARAI tests, the 85 PS is good for 21.04 km/L while the 110 PS returns 19.98 km/L. The Lodgy would come with two seat options – 7 and 8 seats. The 7-seat model gets Captain’s chairs for the second row and the 8-seat gets a usual stall.
 
The RxZ variant gets lineaments such as alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, optional leather seats, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, roof-mounted second and third row AC, cruise control, rear view camera and parking sensors and a touchscreen Media NAV system. Safety features count as in the form of dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist and central locking.
