Petrol and diesel prices Sliced

The petrol prices have been sliced down by 80 paise per litre and the diesel price has been slashed by Rs. 1.30 per litre. This is the second price cut in this month.

As the prices for petrol and diesel have been slashed for the second time in this month. Indian oil corporation (IOC) had declared a cut in prices of petrol and diesel effective from 16th April 2015. The petrol prices have been sliced down by 80 paise per litre and the diesel price has been slashed by Rs. 1.30 per litre. This is the second price cut in this month.

There has been a reduction in prices of petrol and diesel with effect from 2nd April 2015, Rs.0.49 per litre and Rs 1.21 per litre respectively.

Petrol in the capital would now be available at Rs 59.20 per litre wef. April 16, 2015 as opposed to the Rs 60 per litre earlier, while diesel will cost Rs 47.20 per litre as against Rs 48.50, according to IOC.

The second reduction in rates this month reverses two rounds of price hikes in February and March first by Rs 0.82 per litre in petrol and Rs 0.61 per litre in diesel on February 16 and by Rs 3.18 per litre in petrol and Rs 3.09 a litre in diesel on March 1, 2015.

In the last few years, petrol prices had seen a slump. Since August 2014, petrol prices have been sliced close to ten times and diesel saw a reduction in price six times since October 2014.
