The online queries increased to 30 percent in 2014, and has flown high 20 times in the last 6 years. Google reports 8 out of 10 buyers, are generally confused on the vehicle to buy, they normally input their terms like the budget, brand, fuel type and ownership details.

Only about 16 percent of the second hand searches are for a particular brand and 84 percent queries come from a general criteria. Goggle has done a study with auto manufacturer Mahindra, for their used car business, Mahindra First Choice, who also reported the growing need for diesel cars basically due to the price that is offered on them.
 
47 percent of the searches include the used Utility vehicles, 20 percent for Hatchbacks and the rest is occupied by sedans and Luxury variants. One brand that has topped the list of Used Car searches is Honda, with its model City taking the top slot. Maharashtra leads the region of searches, followed by South India, Bengal, NCR-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and then finally Punjab. It has been reported by Mahindra First Choice, the first time buyers segment is declining, with the multiple car in the family segment is getting a growth.
