Development challenges for BMW i8 Spyder

After the successes of BMW i8 Coupe and i3 hatchback, now the BMW has planning to launch new version i8 Spyder might be the next tohit the showrooms. Even though some forums report, that the BMW i8 Spyder has been green lighted for production.

After the successes of BMW i8 Coupe and i3 hatchback, now the BMW has planning to launch new version i8 Spyder might be the next tohit the showrooms. Even though some forums report, that the BMW i8 Spyder has been green lighted for production. But things might not be so perfect. Autocar UK reports that BMW i8 Spyder is facing major development challenges.

A spokesman says that incorporating the carbon fiber-reinforced plastic bodyshell construction of i8 Sypder into a convertible format was proving problematic: “the production of convertible format of i8 is facing challenges.”

BMW i8 Sypder

The i8 Sypder is a powered by an eDrive drivetrain combining a high performance electric motor. The new car minimized weight, low center of gravity and output upto 354hp. The i8 Sypder runs to 100km/h (62mph) in 5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
