Audi India sales hiked by 11 percent in December 2013

German auto major Audi on Friday reported 11% growth sales in December 2013 at 10,002 units in India, as company had sold 9,003 units in 2012. Audi becomes the first luxury carmaker to cross the 10,000 milestone in the country.

German auto major Audi on Friday reported 11% growth sales in December 2013 at 10,002 units in India, as company had sold 9,003 units in same month 2012. Audi becomes the first luxury carmaker to cross the 10,000 milestone in the country.

Audi India head Joe King said in a statement “Audi has emerged as a winning brand by closing the year on a record-making note with 10,002 units sold in a single year in India,"

Mr. King said, "2013 was a stellar year for Audi in India in terms of growth, expansion and performance. Our strong leadership is a result of our diverse product portfolio, network expansion, unique marketing activities..."

In December 2013, Company had bookings of more than 1,340 units - the highest ever in a month. However, there was delay in delivery of 450 odd vehicles to January 2014.

Audi India has decided to deliver these cars in January 2014 with the price of December 2013 to maintain their goodwill in Indian market. It had announced hiking of prices of its products by 3-5 percent across model range from January 1.
