Suzuki Motorcycle lines-up scooter launches to beat rivals Honda and Hero

The new improved automatic CVT gearbox and a mix of aluminium-steel body and has made it the lightest scooter across the country, weighing just at 98 kilograms. Due to the light weight it would deliver the impressive fuel efficiency of 63 kmpl.it is just identical to what the bikes offer in the high volume 100-125cc segment.

Suzuki Motorcycle India limited (SMIL), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan's Suzuki Motor Corporation has planned to make its hold strong in Indian two wheeler  scooter segment with the launch of new products at 'every price point' to beat its bigger rivals such as Hero Motocorp and Honda Motorcycle and scooter. Suzuki also plans to double its production capacity to one million units in one year

A senior executive said that“Company eyeing to build a significant share in the very fast growing scooter market”, we would launch our third product in India in 110cc segment called ‘Let’s’ to take on rivals.It will extend our portfolio and make us strong contender against the market leader in scooter segment ‘Honda’.

Confirming this, Atul Gupta, executive vice-president, SMIL said: "We plan to offer two-wheelers at every price point. Scooters have been the 'crowning glory' for SMIL in the two-wheeler segment." Scooter sales grew at 21 per cent in the fiscal, while bikes grew 3 per cent. "Keeping the longterm potential in mind, we have developed a new scooter 'Let's' that would primarily drive volumes in younger customers and the cost-conscious college students with its high octane mix of mileage and power," he added.

The “Let’s” will be powered by the 110cc four stroke engine produces out 8.7hp@7500rpm and a high 9Nm torque@5500 rpm.
