For the first time, the bike has been slick while out on a test. A bike Fanatic, from Motoroids, has captured spy shots of the Yamaha YZF-R3, while testing on the roads of India. The Indian team of the company has imported a few units, in order to inspect them on the India conditions. The bike gets its power from the 321cc twin cylinder dynamo along with a capacity to produce 42 PS and 29.6 Nm of force, paired to a 6-speed gear box. The new machine, would get a place, a little above the smaller sibling R25 that is another machine, under the construction in India.

If compared, the two, the R3 gets an edge over as it’s a racing model, equipped with specifications like pistons that are just shown, a camshaft for a direct drive, conrods that are carburized, less friction pistols. The power to break down comes courtesy to the 298mm disc at the fore and a 220m disc at the rear.

The motorcycle is draped with telescopic splits at the fore and a moving-arm for the back, while balancing at 169 kg. In the European market, the R3 is gifted with an ABS too. Yamaha have been dicey about bringing in the sports bike segment to India, initially, however we believe, they assume the market is right for them to hit the dart. Once the bikes would be up and running on the Indian roads, we expect them to give a tough task to the currently running KTM RC390 and the Kawasaki Ninja, carrying a price tag of Rs. 3 lakhs, ex-showroom in the capital.
